Town of Erie, Colorado · Erie Municipal Airport (EIK)
Airport Fund fee simulator
Erie Code § 2-7-2 requires the Airport Fund to be self-supporting, with revenue that exceeds spending. Change the fees below to see how much of the general-fund subsidy each change closes.
Revenue: fees and volumes
Drag a slider or type a value. The sourced, derived and estimate tags show where each baseline number comes from. Click a row name to see its source note.
Expenses
Airport Fund operating spending from the Town's 2027 Proposed Budget. Capital projects are excluded by default; add them in the last line.
Assumptions
Find the break-even fee
Pick one fee. The simulator finds the lowest rate that brings year 1 to break-even, with every other setting held as it is now.
Sources and method
Annual revenue = rate × units (× 12 for monthly rents). The sensitivity settings shrink volume as fees rise: tenant-paid lines lose the set % of units for every $500/yr added per unit, and fuel loses the set % of gallons for every $0.25/gal added. Through-the-fence and ground-lease revenue is tied to property, so it doesn't respond. Projections grow expenses by inflation, fees by the escalator, and fuel and based-aircraft volumes by activity growth. Baseline revenue and expense totals match the Town's 2027 Proposed Budget for the Airport Fund. Where the budget gives one total, the split into rate × quantity is derived or estimated, and each line is tagged that way. This is a planning model, not the adopted budget.
